  • Do not overload boxes and use appropriate material
  • Take advantage of the opportunity to throw away unnecessary items
  • Clearly mark all boxes with any needed information (e.g. fragile)
  • Arrange free access to the way and place of the moved items
  • Have all personal documents with you

Easier, faster and safer moving
Start your preparations for moving well in advance. Gradually load all items to be moved into boxes and have boxes ready for things you will use until the last minute before moving. Load boxes adequately according to the strength of the box – according to the layers of cardboard. For lighter items such as textiles, for the most part it is sufficient to use three-layer cardboard. For books, or for example porcelain, five-layer cardboard is adequately strong and seven-layer cardboard for exceptional situations. For fragile items, filling should be used which acts as a protective layer and protects against movement. Choose the filling according to its suitability for example, foam balls, bubblewrap, filling from perforated cardboard (ecological), sheets of cardboard. Old newspapers are also good for wrapping individual smaller items and when crumpled up can be used as filling. Also take care to protect the edges of furniture to not only protect the item itself but also to protect against damage the item’s sharp edges can cause to its surroundings. Protect floors with sheets of cardboard and even put down broken apart boxes on places where people are going to walk.

Description of boxes – very practical
Mark boxes according to the place where their contents should be delivered. For example, boxes for kitchen items could be marked with the letter ‘K’, bedroom with the letter ‘B’, cellar with the letter ‘C’, or in some other way if further specification is needed. When boxes are marked clearly and logically there is no problem about workers asking which boxes go where. This will save you a lot of time and energy in the unpacking process. We also recommend marking boxes as to the order in which they should be unpacked, for example, the first box to be unpacked should be marked with a number ‘1’ and so on. Furthermore, we recommend marking boxes as to the characteristics of their contents (e.g. fragile, do not turn over, etc.) - in this way you will assure greater care in moving your items. Mark each box in large letters on two or preferably more sides with a large felt-tipped marker.

Get rid of unnecessary things
Moving is a great opportunity to get rid of unnecessary things. Consider if it makes sense to move things which you think would be a pity to throw away and which have often been stored for a long time. These things are often useless today and people keep them only because they were once ‘so difficult to find’. You can always arrange to have us take them to a collection yard for their liquidation. When someone moves to a smaller location, the situation often arises that there is not enough space to put your items or that you overfill the space.

How to save time
faster moving without any complications

We recommend checking the place to where the moved items are to be delivered for a number of practical reasons. We recommend checking that there are not any places in the path of the moving process that could be damaged by large objects – mainly corners of walls, which can be covered with folded cardboard. More important is to check that there are no items in the way that will limit mobility, particularly in cases when moving larger objects. In the event that it is possible to temporarily remove such obstacles, agree to do so with the owner of the items in advance. There should not be any problem with temporarily relocating any such items. In cases where larger and heavier items need to be relocated, it is not a problem to ask the moving company you are using to do so when you request such help in advance. A clear path reduces the time needed for moving and any possible complications which, of course, also reduces the total cost of the move.

Visit by a worker from the moving company
In order to avoid any ‘surprises’ in the course of your move, arrange a visit by a specialist from the moving company who will be able to give you an exact price calculation and work schedule after an inspection and specification of the work needed. He will also be happy to give you professional advice as to how to make your move easier. Upon request our company will lend you any number of boxes you need or we can sell you boxes at wholesale prices. This also applies to protective material.
